1.) How do you work?
Unique custom cabinetry provides design service for rooms requiring specific storage and we specialize in kitchens. Bathes, fireplace built-ins and entertainment centers are other areas of interest. We work with customers through the design process, cabinetry and fixtures selections, bidding and installation.

2.) What do you charge for design and consultation?
The amount charged for our professional design service depends on the type and size of a project. The schematic drawings a client needs for comprehension of their new space is also a consideration. See the Kitchen Design Pricing under the Services section of our Web site.

3.) How does the design process work?
Once hired to design a client’s kitchen or space we schedule an in home consultation. The project scope and focus are discussed and detailed measurements are taken. If the project is new construction the client provides the scaled architectural floor plans of their new home.

After listening to all of a clients requirements the design process is started. The first drawing is the preliminary floor plan where all the primary areas of interest are addressed. An example in a kitchen design would be appliance placement and designated work areas. From here a meeting is scheduled where the designer gets input from her client and the design is refined. Final drawings are completed including floor plan, elevations, and a 3-D sketch.

4.) Do you have examples of work you have completed?

There have been many beautiful kitchens completed in the past 16 years and our photo gallery is an eclectic example of these. Please see the gallery section of our web site.

5.) Does Unique Custom Cabinetry do the entire project from start to finish?
The role of Unique Custom Cabinetry is to design and provide drawings for your project. We also provide cabinetry, countertops and other fixtures that go along with your project.

The contracting part of the project is handled by separate contractors. We have an on going working relationship with several contractors who will take on this part of the project. This is a team effort approach with several successful projects with referrals if needed. We will also work with your contractor and can also just provide your cabinetry installed.

6.) Do you just supply cabinetry?
Unique Custom Cabinetry also sells countertops with the kitchen or bath cabinetry we provide. We also offer cabinetry hardware, interior accessories and accoutrements. Specialized glass in cabinet doors is another option as well as custom tile for backsplashes. We work closely with Custom Distributors, a local appliance distributor, for servicing our clients with the best offerings in appliances.

7.) Is all your cabinetry custom?
Custom is what you make it. All our kitchens are one of a kind irregardless of the “type” of cabinetry specified. All of our cabinetry is made per order. We offer Semi-custom, Custom and Full custom cabinetry all in different price ranges. Please see our Kitchen Cabinetry Options in the Services section of our Web Site.

8.) Can we just hire you to do design and consultation for us?
We do supply just design and consultation with out purchase of cabinetry. There are many reasons to just want design. A client may have a family member who builds beautiful cabinetry but may not have the experience or time to do the design. Often we are hired to do feasibility studies to combine kitchens and seldom used dining rooms for the option of one large eat in kitchen. Projects are sometimes planned years in advance. A client may also be juggling several ideas and will request two totally different designs to help them determine a construction direction or they may be in a buying group that offers cabinetry.
